Pam Carnochan – Wool Painting / Textiles

Photo of Michelle Bruce

Pam is inspired by the land and the creatures she shares it with
and so in doing has a unique art form she has titled Watercolour with Wool. Pam uses the wool from her sheep as the medium of choice and the process is entrenched in the care of her flock through to the creating of her landscapes. It is an intuitive form of art and very organic in the manner it is produced, following the seasons. The spring is the beginning with the shearing of the fleece followed by the cleaning and dyeing of the wool (summer/fall) and then the two felting techniques she uses to paint landscapes with fibre ( fall/winter). It is a very organic and natural way of creating art.
